Collaborations between Pattern Research, Inc. and the library community

I collaborate with library training organizations around the country. Here is a current list with brief descriptions and web sites, followed by upcoming programs for libraries and a brief history of library-related workshops. These programs are unique versions of my workshops, custom-designed for these organizations and their audiences.

Please note that I am pretty well booked up for presentations and consulting projects through February of 2008. Please let me know if you want to be put on a waiting list in case of cancellations. I am booking for 2009 and would be happy to talk with you about future projects.

*The LAMA/ALA Regional Institute offers three of Pat's programs: Practical Project Management, Conflict Management and Workplace Influence. These can be booked for your library or institution.

Just type in "Wagner" where it asks for instructor's last name.

The SirsiDynix Institute offers seven free archived web-based seminars, which all can be viewed (and in some cases heard) anytime at http://www.dynix.com/institute/archive.asp

Here are the topics with their original broadcast dates. You can also hear some of the most recent programs as podcasts. They are archived at iTunes.

Click University is an online learning community for the benefit of SLA members. If you are a SLA member, you can have access to their online programs. Our two-part program, Project Management for the Solo Librarian is available in a recorded version. (These programs are not accessible to those who use Mac computers.) Check out the details at this web site. You can type "Wagner" in the search box and find the programs. The next live program will be November 4, 2009.

California libraries can book three of my workshops through the California State Library's Infopeople Project:

The training materials for all three can be downloaded in .doc, .pdf and .ppt formats. These workshops can also be booked onsite for your California library.

During December 2008, I will be presenting Building Leadership Skills: Developing and Leading Projects at seven locations: San Diego, Los Angeles, Buena Park, Sacramento, Fresno, San Franciso, and San Jose. Please check the Infopeople site at http://infopeople.org/workshop/395 for more information.

Partnership to Promote Greater Accessibility to Library Education

Since the summer of 2007 I have been collaborating with the Lifelong Education @ Desktop (LE@D) program http://www.leadonline.info, a continuing education community service of the University of North Texas. Now, my clients will have access to my material before, during, after and even instead of my live workshops. We plan to transform 28 of my programs in the coming months into “anytime, anywhere, everywhere” web-based classes. These classes are approved for certification under the Western Council of State Libraries.

Five of my workshops are immediately available.

In addition to providing content for classes as a subject matter expert, I also will be supporting marketing efforts as the library relations associate. I am pleased to be able to spread the word about LE@D. The LE@D team provides inexpensive, appealing and effective online education for library and school leadership, managers and staff, as well as professionals and associates in business, rehabilitation and volunteer management.

Why did I join the LE@D team?

Hope to see you online soon.
